Hutchison reflects on Primates' Meeting

- TORONTO, March 9 [2005]
- Archbishop Andrew Hutchison, Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, offers personal reflections and comments on the recent meeting of the Primates of the Anglican Communion on the next segment of the Webcast +Andrew: Conversations with the Primate.
- The Primates' Meeting, which was held in Belfast, concluded with a request that the Canadian and U.S. churches voluntarily withdraw their members from the Anglican Consultative Council until the next Lambeth conference of bishops in 2008. The Primates also agreed not to interfere in each other's provinces.
- In the webcast which will be posted Thursday, March 10, Archbishop Hutchison comments on both these outcomes of the meeting and reflects on what they mean for the future of the church.
- +Andrew: Conversations with the Primate is a communications too, Archbishop Hutchison is using to speak to rank-and-file church members in an informal way and to solicit comments on both these outcomes of the meeting and reflects on what they mean for the future of the church.
- The webcasts can be accessed from the home page of the General Synod website (www.anglican.ca) where they can be viewed or downloaded for viewing later or for sharing.
