Management Consultants' Survey - Report of the Committee on Program, Planning and Research - General Synod Archives

Prologue: Concerning the membership of the Long Range Planning Committee, the Program Committee, and the Administration and Finance Committee, it was moved [and seconded].

Text of motion: That the National Executive Council recommends that the membership of the Long Range Planning Committee and the Program Committee consist of the following:; 1. Ex officio, the Primate and the Prolocutor.; 2. Two provincial representatives from each Province, elected by General Synod from its membership.; 3. Five members of the National Executive Council elected from its membership at its first meeting following a Session of the General Synod.; 4. Five members not necessarily members of General Synod or the National Executive Council elected by the National Executive Council at its first meeting following a Session of the General Synod.; That in the case of the Administration and Finance Committee, the membership be as above stated with the addition of the Honorary Treasurer as an ex officio member. CARRIED

Notes: The Chairman expressed the gratitude of the Council members to Mr. J.W. Graham and Chancellor R.H. Soward for the considerable amount of work they had done on the draft report.; On concern being expressed that Mr. J.W. Graham had made it known that he would not be continuing his association with General Synod, it was hoped that the National Executive Council would ask him to be one of the five members of the Administration and Finance Committee, who are not members of General Synod or the National Executive Council. It was felt that his knowledge and experience will be one of the most important factors in the implementation of the proposed reorganization.
