National Executive Council Membership

Text of motion: THAT General Synod instruct National Executive Council to arrange for the amendment of the Constitution of General Synod to provide that:; 1. the bishops, priests and laymen of each Province who are the delegates to General Synod act as one caucus in nominating and electing its Provincial representatives to National Executive Council;; 2. these Provincial caucuses select their bishops as well as the priests and laymen who are to be nominated for National Executive Council and other committees.; An amendment was; Moved by: Bishop R.L. Seaborn; Seconded by: Bishop A.A. Read; THAT the words 'arrange for' be deleted and the words, 'study the advisability of' be substituted therefor. CARRIED IN ORDER OF BISHOPS DEFEATED IN ORDER OF DELEGATES; The motion was then put and CARRIED IN BOTH ORDERS. Act 91
