Message U4 [Bishop of Accra's Expulsion from Ghana]

Prologue: The General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada meeting at Kingston, Ontario, respectfully requests the Primate to convey to the Bishop of Accra its sincere sympathy with him in his expulsion by the Government of Ghana, and to assure him of our prayerful support, and, further, whilst the Synod rejoices in the self-government which has come to Ghana, it expresses its prayer that there may be in that country and everywhere else that growth in freedom of speech and liberty of conscience upon which the principles of responsible government rest.
