Metropolitan of Province of Canada

Text of motion: That this General Synod express to the Most Reverend John Dixon, Archbishop of Montreal and Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of Canada our good wishes on his retirement, and our gratitude for his service to The Anglican Church of Canada during over fifty years in the ministry, more than nineteen of which have been spent in the episcopate. This Synod, recognizing and appreciating his leadership as Chairman for ten years of the Reunion Committee and for fifteen years as Chairman of the Pension Board and his valuable contribution for Vice-Chairman of the Budget Committee, prays God's richest blessing on him in his retirement. CARRIED by unanimous acclamation in both Houses.
