Memorial 11 From the Diocese of Yukon

Text of motion: Re Expo '67; Whereas the Anglican Church of Canada will be spending $165,000 as its share of a Christian Pavilion to be erected at Expo '67, and the need for monies for world relief and propagation of the Gospel is constant and acute and this $165,000 represents more than one-half of the 1964 budget of the Primate's World Relief Fund.; Be It Resolved that the Synod of the Diocese of Yukon recommend to the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada that the plans for the Christian Pavilion at Expo '67 be rejected in favour of a small, simple symbol of our faith, with the surplus monies being directed to world relief and the propagation of the Gospel. CARRIED in both Houses.
