Middle East

Text of motion: Whereas the continuing state of tension between Israel and the Arab States constitutes a serious threat to world peace;; This General Synod declares its support for the efforts by the Government of Canada to achieve a just peace in the Middle East, and; Urges that in working out peaceful solutions to the Middle East conflict international guarantees be sought to assure free access to the holy places in Jerusalem for the members of the Jewish, Muslim and Christian religions. CARRIED in both Houses.
