- Prologue
- That this General Synod approve the resolution of the Synod of the Diocese of Toronto that this Synod desires to record its strong conviction of the importance and urgency of constant co-operation and of continued study of the question of the Reunion of the Christian Church, and its belief that constant militant leadership is required in the dissemination of accurate information, the promotion of education, and study on the question throughout the Church of England in Canada;
- And that it considers that the Unity of Christendom must command the constant interest, prayer and effort of every Christian.
- Text of motion
- Suggestions for amendment of the resolution were offered, and the mover and seconder consented to substitute the words "all possible" for the word "constant" in the second line, and the word "Christendom" for the words "the Christian Church" in line three, so that the resolution, as amended would read:
- "That this Synod desires to record its strong conviction of the importance and urgency of all possible co-operation and of continued study of the question of the Reunion of the Christendom, and its belief that constant militant leadership is required in the dissemination of accurate information, the promotion of education, and study on the question throughout the Church of England in Canada;
- And that it considers that the Unity of Christendom must command the constant interest, prayer and effort of every Christian."
- The resolution, in its amended form, was CARRIED. Message L-38
