- The Reverend B.H.W. Howe introduced the presentation and requested the Very Reverend J.A. Munroe to speak to the section of the Long Range Planning Committee report entitled "Spirituality in the Anglican Church of Canada: A Survey Analysis".
- Dr. Andrew Harvey of the regional and Urban Studies Centre, Institute of Public Affairs, Dalhousie University, led members of Synod through the content of the report, as he reviewed statistics shown with the aid of the overhead projector.
- Text of motion
- That the words "the prayer life" be deleted and the words "life of prayer and scripture study" be inserted in their place. CARRIED
- The motion now reads:
- That this General Synod commend the report on Spirituality to the House of Bishops and to the Doctrine and Worship Committee for study and especially to consider whether new programs should be initiated to strengthen and increase the life of prayer and scripture study of Canadian Anglicans.
