- "This book contains music that may be led in a congregation without the use of any books or photocopies, and mostly without rehearsing before hand. Congregants are able to sing from the heart and have their hands free to take part in worship: lighting candles, walking to the font -- anything is possible. .... Many of these songs were composed during a retreat sponsored by the All Saints Company and the Church of St. Gregory of Nyssa in San Francisco. During that week, composers prayed and sang together, discussed congregational singing, composed, and critiqued each other's work. The All Saints Company has also launched a series of conferences called 'Music that Makes Community' to instruct people how to teach and sing in this way. For more information see www.allsaintscompany.com". -- Editor's Note.
- "In these 85 recently composed songs to be learned and sung by heart, you will find a renewed commitment to congregational music. Step-by-step instruction will assist you in teaching and will give you confidence as a leader of song". -- back cover.
