- "[B]y Donald Taylor".
- "[I]t was the ferment of the approach of the third millennium that initiated the inspiration of compiling the history of the adolescent diocese [of Seychelles]. .... I am firmly convinced that it was divine guidance that led the diocese to invite Dr. Donald Taylor to consider this request and his subsequent acceptance to do so. Anglican, born in Mauritius, working in Seychelles as lay reader then as priest and pursuing post-graduate studies in the UK, the diocese could not have have had a more suited and academically gifted person to undertake the task required. Research for the ministry took the author back to Seychelles and Mauritius over the space of two years, to the archives of the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, London, those of the Church Missionary Society in London and Birmingham, of Rhodes House, University of Oxford, of the Public Record Office, Kew, besides interviewing several individuals in Mauritiusm Seychelles and the UK". -- Foreword.
