- "Truly as Lambeth says: `There is everywhere, the desire for a fuller and freer life'. And in these days, in their tragedies and despairs, many have questioned the Church. .... And to us and our branch of Christendom, the Church has spoken. And he, who would decry and deny the place of Social Work in the Church, or the Church's responsibility for that work, as part of the Divine Programme, debates no longer with an eager, sincere, and over-zealous minority but refuted the findings of the most powerful and representative group in the Church Militant (p. 3)". "There is the call of Christ for fellowship among Christians, and there is the call of the Church to realize this fellowship in individual service. This after all, is akin to the very pulse of life's desires, at the present time -- the surging impulse of humanity for a re-expression of life, in the terms of duties, not rights; of sacrifice and service, not of demands; of obligations and responsibilities, no of privileges and exemptions. Only when life nationally and internationally, within the home, the shop, the factory and the market is re-established on this basis of expression in the terms of duty, and not of rights, then and then only, may we hope for peace and good will in the interrelationship of individuals and of nations (p. 4)". "Every amelioration of the outward conditions of men's lives is the translation of a fragment of our Creed into action" (p. 16).
- Lambeth Findings and the Local Church divided into sub-sections: The Lambeth Appeal -- The Practical Need -- Methods of Work -- Study -- Church Membership -- Knowledge of the Parish -- Special Activities -- The Border Line Appeal.
