- Notes
- During the 1999 Summer Conference of the Ecclesiastical History Society at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, the Society honoured Dr. Claire Cross with the launch of a book of essays in her honour. "This volume covers some six hundred years of history from c. 1100 to c. 1700, the period from the Middle Ages through the Tudor period, into the Stuart period in which Dr. Cross taught, researched and wrote. The geographical setting is the Northern Church, the Province of York, although the northern border has been extended to include a Scottish nobleman, thhe fifth earl of Argyle. .... The book contains 25 essays, all of high quality, plus a tribute to Claire Cross by Barrie Dobson and the Bibliography prepared by Christine M. Newman" (p. 84).
