- Notes
- The author, a Volunteer in Mission from the diocese of Calgary, describes her work at a home for poor girls in the diocese of Pelotas, Episcopal Anglican Church of Brazil. Currently the house has 13 girls living there. "They participate fully in all the house chores, the vegetable garden, etc. They also have a private teacher who comes two days a week to help them with their school work, a psychologist who works with them once a week, a few ladies who also come to teach sewing, painting on cloth, knitting and crochet. They are kept busy teaching some skills that we hope will help them when they leave, but they still have plenty of time to play".
