- Notes
- "The United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (USPG) is launching a new project to support the work of the Church of Myanmar (Burma). In 2004, we have sent nearly 90,000 [pounds sterling] to fund education, development and health care initiatives set up by the church to benefit some of the country's most isolated communities." "The Anglican Province was formed in 1970, nine years after Buddhism became the official state religion and four years after all foreign missionaries were forced to leave. Today, the Church of Myanmar is allowed to worship, although it is monitored by the government, political activism is prohibited and special permission is needed for all activities".
