- Lay reader James Settee, whose great-grandfather was the second Cree Indian to be ordained by the Anglican Church in Canada, was consecrated deacon in the diocese of Saskatchewan early this year. He becomes the fourth member of the Settee family to be ordained. Mr. Settee's great-grandfather, also named James, was trained to be a missionary among his own people, the Swampy Cree, by Rev. John West and ordained in 1853".
