- Notes
- The author is a Volunteer in Mission from the diocese of Calgary serving in Pelotas, Brazil. She works in a children's institute which offers "full assistance, Monday to Friday, to needy girls of ages 5 to 11 and also to provide food, education, clothing, life skills and Christian education to boys and girls during the day". "Our job in the institute is really just to buy time for these children and hopefully some of them will be able to continue in school, get jobs and avoid life on the streets. The biggest problem is that there is not continuation to the work that we do at the institute and more often than not we lose contact with them."
