The Last Word : We need a little Christmas

Notes: The author reflects on the upcoming [the column was written on Michaelmas Day, 29 September] feast of Christmas in light of the events of 11 September 2001. He talks about the secularism and commercialism of Christmas but says that: "I no longer will be upset with Christmas images being shown early, because I realise that people know in their hearts what Christmas really does mean. They know it means joy and thanksgiving and celebration of the one who is the Prince of Peace."
