- Notes
- This book provides "a comprehensive legal description of the entire body of law and regulation governing the internal polity of the Church of England, whether derived from ecclesiastical or secular sources" (p. 356). "Dr. Doe's examines the ecclesiastical law (including the canon law) of the Church of England on three levels:(i) descriptive, by identifying and stating what is the applicable law; (ii) evaluative, by critically assessing that law for clarity and comprehensiveness; and (iii) comparative, by comparing and contrasting the canon law of the Church of England with the Roman Catholic Code of Canon Law, 1983, so as to assess it against the standards of the Western canonical tradition. (pp. 356-357"
