Roger Herft, Bishop of Newcastle, in Australia, who will be Chaplain to the 1998 Lambeth Conference explains that "`The Chaplain leads a team that has responsibility for the rhythm of worship, music and prayer as well as offering pastoral support for the participants. The team is working hard to create an atmosphere that is inclusive, given the wide range of piety, musical taste, language and cultural expressions in Anglicanism.'
