- Messages from the Upper House, Nos. U 20 and U 31, reading as follows, were then received and considered: (See p. 67.)
- Message U-20 Re: "Board of Examiners for Degrees in Divinity"
- "That the Upper House approves of the Report in the Convening Circular, together with the Resolutions in the supplementary Report on pages 2 and 3, with the following amendment, 'that Resolution A, Section 3, of the Report of the Committee on Degrees in Divinity be amended to include five Bishops, five Clerical members of the Lower House other than representatives of the Colleges, and five lay members of the Lower House'." (For supplementary Report, see p. 300.)

- "That a message of grateful thanks be sent to the Vice-Chancellor, the Rev. C.R. Feilding, S.T.D., the Secretary, the Rev. J.A. Coombs, and all members of the Board of Examiners for Divinity Degrees for the guidance and help given to the Church in Canada through the year".
- Text of motion
- That, in giving concurrence to Message U-20, "Board of Examiners for Divinity Degrees," Resolution A in its three parts, as found in the Supplementary Report, and as amended by the Upper House, be referred to the Committee on Constitution and Canons for study, and presentation to the next session of General Synod; and that as Resolution B deals with a correction in terminology only, it be received forthwith and the appropriate action taken.
