- Prologue
- 18. Report of the Long Range Planning Committee on Planning '79
- The Reverend J. McCullum and the Reverend W. Asbil spoke on behalf of the Committee, and presented detailed plans for the November, 1974 Conference. Fifteen overseas participants, at least two representatives from each diocese, all bishops, presidents of diocesan ACWs and others would be included. The purpose would be to discover new directions for the Church during 1976-7-8. The total cost was estimated at $16,619.00.
- 19. Mission and Ministry
- Bishop Garnsworthy reported that the House of Bishops Task Force had met in Winnipeg, and sought counsel of the National Executive Council regarding the wisdom and value of holding a conference in the Fall of 1975 at which there would be present all the bishops, representative clergy and laity, numbering between 100 and 150, to look at theology.
- Bishop Garnsworthy said that invitations would be extended to some of the foremost thinkers in the Anglican Communion to be part of the Conference, and that it would be intended that one person, who would be part of the planning, would convene similar events across Canada following the Conference, that learnings and inspiration may be shared.
