- Prologue
- The General Secretary informed the Council that, in 1964, the Bishop of Niagara conducted an inquiry to the dioceses regarding their policy in paying hospitality expenses of those attending quarterly meetings. Following the February meeting of the Council, the General Secretary wrote to the dioceses and asked if any change had been made in the policy outlined in their reply to Bishop Bagnall. The replies indicated that, with exceptions, the Dioceses generally pay such expenses for their representatives. However, there are dioceses which are quite unable to do so.
- Text of motion
- That the National Executive Council direct the General Treasurer to communicate to the several dioceses:
- - i. That travel expenses of N.E.C. members will be borne by General Synod
- - ii. That accommodation is not to be borne by General Synod, but, presumably, is to be borne by the dioceses
- - iii. That the usual scale of payment for hospitality is $12.00 per day. CARRIED
