- Text of motion
- That this N.E.C. endorses the following recommendations of the Long Range Planning Committee.
- The Long Range Planning Committee, aware of its responsibility for surveying the Church's national structures and for recommending changes to National Executive Council, notes that the restructuring of national committees was completed without consideration of any changes in the schedule and pattern of Quarterly Meetings, and without provision for coordination of the recommendations coming from the various new committees to National Executive Council, recommends that the National Executive Council ask the Long Range Planning Committee to develop specific recommendations for consideration by the National Executive Council in May on the following issues.
- a) The need to enhance coordination and information-sharing among General Synod and National Executive Council committees, the National Executive Council itself, and the Manpower/Theological Education offices, and to enable National Executive Council to deal effectively with its agenda;
- b) The need to examine the pattern of quarterly meetings in the light of the restructuring of the National Church committees/office structures, in order to enable the Council and the several committees to deal expeditiously with their work. CARRIED
