- Prologue
- It was agreed that the following two resolutions from the Organization Committee should be considered at this point:
- 1. That the Organization Committee sees a need to evaluate the new committee and organizational structure set up in 1967 following the Price-Waterhouse report and the cost thereof, and recommends that a task force be established to make this study.
- In the meantime the Organization Committee expresses the view that the size and concept of the Long Range Planning Committee might well be considered, and requests the Long Range Planning Committee to express its opinion as to the present size, organization and function as outlined in para.4 on page 119 of the Handbook.
- 2. The Organization Committee, having reviewed its terms of reference as approved by General Synod in 1969, interprets section (1) which reads, "the continued review of the organization, structure and procedures of Synod and recommendations in respect to the same," to include within its responsibilities continual review of the organization and structure of General Synod and its various committees and not merely the sessions of General Synod itself.
- Text of motion
- That a Task Force be appointed by the Primate in consultation with the chairmen of the Organization and Long Range Planning Committees to make the study referred to in resolutions 1 and 2 of the Organization Committee's report, and, further, that the Task Force report back to National Executive Council through both these Committees.
