Text of motion
That having heard of the impending resignation of the Bishop of Newfoundland, this General Synod at its 22nd Session expresses its deep gratitude for a ministry varied and rich with many gifts in diverse fields of the Church's life and work including that of Theological Education and the Episcopate;
We recall with deep appreciation his leadership as the Diocese of Newfoundland became part of the Anglican Church of Canada and the contribution he and his diocese have made to our common life;
We wish him and Mrs. Meaden many years of happiness in retirement and God's richest blessing. CARRIED in both Houses.
