Motion re Prayer Book in Contemporary English (Notice of Motion No.51)

Prologue: It was moved by Mr. W. St. Clair Low, seconded by Rt. Rev. H.R. Hunt,; That this General Synod approves in principle the preparation of a version of the present Book of Common Prayer in contemporary English and to this end requests the Committee on the Revision of the Book of Common Prayer to make available within the next twelve months such a version of the Administration of Holy Communion and the Order for Morning and Evening Prayer for permissive use subject to the consent of the Diocesan Bishops.

Text of motion: That the said motion be referred to the Committee on Revision of the Prayer Book for consideration and report. The amendment was put and CARRIED in both Houses.
