- Chancellor R.H. Soward reported the results of the Joint Conference with the Members of the Upper House regarding Message U6 dealing with the Use of Modern Versions of the Bible in Church Services.
- Following the consultation requested by the Lower House in relation to Message U2, the following rephrased Resolution has been agreed to in the Upper House: "In view of the recommendations made by the Prayer Book Revision Committee to the House of Bishops, arising out of a resolution of the 21st session of the General Synod as recorded on page 20 of the 1962 Journal of Proceedings, and of other suggestions referred to the Committee, no authorization be given, at this time, for the use of any version of the scriptures in the readings of the Epistles and Gospels other than found in the Book of Common Prayer; And that this General Synod commends the use of the Revised Standard Version of the Bible in the reading of the Lessons at Morning and Evening Prayer and at the Occasional Offices."
