- Whereas the world problem of Refugees is still great and Christians regard it as a matter of grave responsibility to seek solutions to this problem,
- This General Synod Declares its concern that Canada play a full and responsible role in seeking a lasting solution to the Middle East refugee problem and
- Calls upon the Government of Canada
- 1. to enlarge its contributions to UNRWA for Palestinian Refugees
- 2. to open its doors to significant numbers of Middle East refugees as immigrants to Canada
- 3. to undertake active diplomatic measures to bring about permanent settlement of the total Middle East refugee population
- And To This End Declares the willingness of the Church to cooperate to the full in implementing these measures. CARRIED in both Houses.
