Minutes of February and June 1975

Prologue: Amendment to the February, 1975 Minutes; d) Consultation of Heads of Colleges and Field Work Supervisors; In the sixth line of the SOMERVILLE/MORDEN motion the words "Education and other people concerned with the pastoral" should be inserted between the words "Pastoral" and "elements."; The motion will now read:; That this National Executive Council recommend to the Program Committee that funds be made available to convoke a consultation involving heads of theological colleges (some of whom may not be Anglican), supervisors of the field work of Anglican students, representatives of the Canadian Association for Pastoral Education and other church people concerned with the pastoral elements in theological education and appropriate diocesan representatives to undertake the following tasks:; 1. to explore the following areas:; a) minimal pastoral training requirements for ordination; b) a common process for reviewing a student's intended curriculum before he begins each academic year.; 2. to work at better methods of assessing student's work, both academic and practical/clinical and to work at better methods of reporting the assessment to appropriate church officers.; 3. to share current field work practice both in term and during summer vacations, including the training of supervisors and the standards of supervision.

Text of motion: That the Minutes of the February and June, 1975 meetings be adopted as amended. CARRIED
