- That this National Executive Council, to implement Act 104 of General Synod 1992 (Common Security and the Federal Budget), communicate to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence:
- a) its support for increased emphasis on the peacekeeping tradition of the Canadian Forces;
- b) its support of the indefinite deferral of the purchase of nuclear powered submarines;
- c) its distress at the decision to proceed with the purchase of 50 EH-101 helicopters;
- d) its support of an early cancellation of this purchase in favour of a more modest acquisition of standard model helicopters more suited to a peacekeeping role.

- a) its support for increased emphasis on the peacekeeping tradition of the Canadian Forces in lieu of the treaty obligations to NATO and NORAD;
- b) its support of the indefinite deferral of the purchase of nuclear powered submarines;
- c) its distress at the decision to proceed with the purchase of 50 EH-101 helicopters; and
- d) its support of an early cancellation of this purchase in favour of the acquisition of less expensive helicopters. CARRIED #54-05-93
