National Office Property - Officers' Report - General Synod Archives

Prologue: The report of the Officers regarding the use of the National Office property was spoken to by the Prolocutor. At the conclusion questions and comments were invited from the floor.; It was agreed that under the heading "B. Subordinate Objectives" there should be a point added as follows:; - 'seriously examine the provision of affordable housing.'; Mr. Barton mentioned staff concerns regarding the provision of day care and a more substantial and pleasant place for people to gather for lunch and coffee breaks, etc.

Text of motion: That the National Executive Council authorize the Officers to enter into a preliminary agreement with one or more interested parties, subject to final approval by the National Executive Council in May 1988, as long as the Major Objectives can be achieved, and the preliminary agreement is consistent with the highest and best use of the value of the property.
