National Executive Council Members-at-Large

Prologue: Moved by: Dr. L.L. Whytehead; Seconded by: Mrs. H. Woolley; 1. That the Organization Committee be requested to draft an amendment to Section VIII of the Constitution (National Executive Council) 36(a)(vii) to the effect that up to one-half of the members-at-large of the National Executive Council be appointed by the Primate to correct lack of representation of identifiable groups within the Anglican Church of Canada after the election of diocesan representatives.; 2. That this amendment be considered by the National Executive Council and, if approved, subsequently presented to the General Synod for possible adoption.; Some discussion took place concerning the suggested percentage of members-at-large to be appointed by the Primate.

Text of motion: That the motion be referred to the Organization Committee and the Long Range Planning Committee for comment by the next meeting of the National Executive Council. CARRIED #41-05-87
