- The Primate welcomed the Reverend Canon W.J. Down, General Secretary of the International Missions to Seamen.
- Canon Down met with some members of the House over lunch. Following that meeting, the House was asked to support the appointment of a liaison bishop who would help raise awareness of the work and the need of support. Archbishop Hambidge presented a proposed recommendation for the appointment of a liaison bishop to Missions to Seamen in Canada. Following discussion, it was

- That this House proceed to the appointment of a liaison bishop for Missions to Seamen, after budgetary implications have been resolved. CARRIED

- Bishop Goodings presented a medal and document, given by the National Harbour Board which met recently in Quebec City. This award was given in appreciation for the work of the Missions to Seamen. The Primate expressed appreciation on being the recipient of this honour on behalf of the Anglican Church.
