Multiculturalism

Text of motion: That this House of Bishops, sharing with the people of the church our experience at the Lambeth Conference of 1988, in which we lived in, and participated in, a multicultural community, propose the following motion to General Synod:; `That this General Synod approves as a high priority for the next three years the development of our church as an inclusive multicultural community,; and; That National Executive Council be requested to commission a sociological study of the challenge to our church of being part of a multicultural communion, nation and world.; The purpose of such a study is to develop a strategy for evangelism for welcoming people of different cultures, and for developing appropriate forms of ministry.' CARRIED
