- Scope and Content
- Photo consists of a man holding up his arm to tempt the pack of dogs surrounding him.
- Verso says: Mr. Merritt and some of the Mission dogs. These dogs are very strong, and five of them will haul 1500 lbs. It would be impossible to carry on Mission work without them in Coronation Gulf. The Missionary starts off in the Fall with his dogs, and sled, and travels from snow village to snow village until spring. The dogs seem to take a pride in getting the sled as far as they can each day. When food is scarce they will work cheerfully on half rations, and will even haul a week without a bite to eat.
