- "The following four reports try to express ways in which we as Christians, in the community of the Church, can begin to use the riches of the faith as resources for living at this particular time. Every day of our lives we all live at three levels, as individuals, as members of communities (business firm, parish, family, volunteer committee), and we all have a public existence even if it is only being made aware every day of the world around us. In 1975 in a report called 'On Singing the Lord's Song in a Strange Land', (1) an attempt was made to share some insights about the first two levels at which we live. These four reports are mainly about the third, the public or political level of life". -- Intro.
