- "[I]t was decided to focus the attention of the working group on 'Ethical and Social Issues in Genetic Engineering and the Ownership of Human Life Forms'. A group of scientists and theologians were invited to take part in a meeting held at the International Graalcentrum, de Tiltenberg, in the village of Vogelenzang, Netherlands, 15-19 June 1981. The findings and recommendations of that working group were circulated for comment and reaction to a number of scientists and submitted to the WCC Central Committee meeting in Dresden, August 1981. .... The following is the final text of the report as revised by a core group of the Working Committee on Church and Society, June 1982, to take account of suggestions received on the first draft". -- Preface.
