"The Diocese of Keewatin covers an area of approximately 280,000 square miles (my estimate). The vast distance to be covered to reach each parish and the inaccessibility of some make on-the-spot sketches impossible. Photographs taken personally of each church could not be done for the same reason. In order to do the book, letters outlining the project were sent to all parishes asking for a photo of the parish church. It has taken two years to gain information to complete the book. .... These church stories have been gleaned from parish vestry, church anniversary booklets, 'Keewatin' magazine, and from the memories of parishioners and former rectors. .... There is no index, as the drawings are placed alphabetically in the book according to the town or village, except Kenora which is first as it has the cathedral". -- Intro.
