- At head of title: Three essays from the left.
- Contents: Blind Man's Bluff ?: Two Religions: One Church : Division and Destiny in the Anglican Church of Canada -- What's the Fuss ?: What Happened to Morning Prayer : The Service of the Word as a Principal Sunday Liturgy -- High-Minded or High-Handed ?: A moratorium on altering the church's teaching regarding homosexuality and for the protection of private conscience (SEAD).
- "The following three essays are my personal response to what I perceive as unwarranted attacks on progressive/orthodoxy. Some would characterize the latter as `liberalism', or left-wing. While I must admit to a bias toward the left, I resent the fact that the right has literally `stolen' the word `orthodox'. I, too, am orthodox, grounded in the Word of God written, confessing the Creeds, with a God-given, abiding faith in the love and unmeritted mercy of God through Christ Jesus. My faith is Trinitarian and includes faith in the atoning, suffering, death, resurrection and ascension on Jesus". -- Intro. p. 4.
