- Notes
- Maude Royden was a member of the Church of England active in the first quarter of the twentieth century, one of the earliest feminist theologians who declared Jesus to be the "first feminist". As well as the leadership she gave to campaign for "women's full participation in the life of the church" including the right to ordination she was a pacifist and leader in the Fellowship of Reconciliation during World War I.
