"At the meeting of the Council for Social Service of the Church of England in Canada held in Winnipeg in September, 1920, the Executive Committee was instructed to prepare a statement for general circulation as to the aims and objects of the League of Nations. In accordance with this resolution the Editorial Board now presents to church-people the following Bulletin, containing first, a brief statement of the objects of the League; second, a few pages devoted to a consideration of the appeal of the League to the Church in its religious and ethical aspects; third, a statement of the achievements of the League so far; and fourth, a reprint of the Covenant of the League. The thanks of the Editorial Board are hereby expressed to the Rt. Hon. Sir George Foster, one of the Canadian delegates to the Assembly of the League in Geneva, and himself a Vice-President of the League, for his kindness in furnishing material for this Bulletin. Acknowledgements are also made to the League of Nations Union, 15 Grosvenor Crescent, S.W.I., London, Eng., for the use of their pamphlets" (p. 3).
