- Notes
- "Further to Cathy Laing's letter ('Struggling with Pandemic Eucharist', Letters, March 2022, p. 4) I have had the option of receiving the Eucharist for almost two years, via Zoom. This has been through an ELCIC congregation of which I was a member for 15 years before moving to Victoria. Members of the congregation raise their own bread and wine as the presider does in the blessing and subsequently partake in concert with the pastor. It is my belief that if we believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, this is merely an acceptance of that power. Too simple ? It's enough for me. This celebration has sustained the congregation throughout the pandemic and also given opportunity to far-flung relatives and friends to join". [Text of entire article.]
