- Notes
- "I am afraid that in her letter ('More on reconciliation and creeds', Letters, March 2022, p. 4) Ann Knutson's logic rather escapes me. Removing the word 'catholic' from our creeds will not suddenly absolve anyone from the hurt of the residential schools, Catholics or Anglicans alike. I do not need to shake my head when I grapple with the concept of Anglicanism being part of the Holy Catholic Church. While we are a Protestant church we are also a direct descendant of the Roman Catholic Church of the 16th century. To start to deny that now would call into question many of our beliefs, thereby leading to the dismantling of Anglicanism as we know it. Perhaps thee writer is looking for a spiritual home more in the United or Baptist expressions of Protestantism ?" [Text of entire article.]
