- "David Norton, a retired Anglican priest, was sentenced to four years in prison August 24 [2018] after pleading guilty in February 2018 to a charge of sexual interference against a child. Norton sexually abuse a boy from age nine to 13, after the boy's mother, believing he would be a good influence on her son, entrusted Norton to take him on camping trips and other outings. The offences took place in the early 1990s". "Norton faces a number of other charges: in 2015, he was charged with sexual assault and indecent assault against three boys, alleged to have taken place between 1977 and 1983 when he was rector of St. Andrew's Anglican Church at Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. These charges are expected to go to trial this fall. According to the diocese of Huron, Norton relinquished his exercise of ministry in 2016".
