- "David Irving, who has served as bishop of the diocese of Saskatoon since 2010, will retire as of October 1, 2018. Irving announced his decision May 31 [2018], at a meeting of the diocese's executive council". "An electoral synod to find a successor for Irving was to be held in Saskatoon September 8 [2018]. Irving studied theology at the University of Oxford, and was ordained a deacon in Edmonton in 1986. He served as priest in Wainwright, Alta., and then in a number of parishes in British Columbia. Irving had been serving as executive archdeacon in the diocese of Kootenay when he was elected bishop in 2009. He had also served as a consultant for the Anglican Church of Canada on gift planning and stewardship".
