"On April 1 [2011], the Council of General Synod (CoGS) approved a motion to un-incorporate the 'Anglican Journal', the national newspaper of the Anglican Church of Canada. The move came from the management of General Synod, which cited cost savings, said Bishop George Elliott, chair of the Anglican Journal board of directors". "The 'Anglican Journal' was separately incorporated from General Synod in 2002 so it could continue publishing should the national church be forced into bankruptcy following Indian residential school litigation".
