- Notes
- "When will the 'Anglican Journal' focus on the views of the mainstream Anglican ? I belong to St. Anne's Anglican Church in Byron, London, Ont., and we support changing the marriage canon. I have been married for almost 11 years and have an adopted eight-year-old. I am gay and my husband is of the same sex. How can the Anglican church expect me to continue attending regular services with the belief that my marriage should not be performed or accepted as a union in the eyes of the Lord ? .... Why do you not take the time to interview families like mine and show our family photo ? What can you not put a face to the 'yes' side for changing the marriage canon ? .... Jesus never spoke on homosexuality but spoke on love. You cannot use biblical quote to stop this since there are numerous passages that we omit today in our policies (e.g. women priests, slavery). Let's change the marriage canon and move on to the love the Lord offers".
