- Notes
- "The past few days there has been a great deal of fighting outside my apartment. It is no wonder the bishops moved his offices. The students are throwing rocks at the police and the military and the military are firing tear gas bombs back. It was like a move being made yesterday -- a man out in the street with a video camera, the military hiding behind the post office wall, me on the roof with a towel wrapped around my head, peering over the wire netting to see what is happening. The students finally provoke the soldiers out; they dash across the street letting loose their bombs of gas, the students running away then darting back and forth. .... Anyway, tear gas is better than bullets".
