- Notes
- "Mi'kmawey Debert is an initiative of the Confederacy of Mainland Mi'kmaq (CMM) that is devoted to sharing the stories of the first people. Part museum, part cultural centre, the facility will allow us to protect and share this special place. With support from the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund, Mi'kmaw Elders are working with CMM staff to plan the facility. In planning the process, the Elders identified three primary goals: to share the stories, to protect the past and to explore our history". "Assistance from PWRDF is also supporting the development of hiking trails near the original site. The Mi'kmawey Debert Interpretive Trail is nearing completion".
